Call for Art: Alone Together
Virtual Art Exhibition by WCADC
Will be sent by June 14, 2020
Exhibition up online:
June 20-August 1 2020
For this virtual all-member opportunity, we invite members to submit works related to the theme “Alone Together.” Through this time of social distancing and quarantine, we are physically separated from one another, but we still make attempts to remain connected to others. Art creation is one tool that we use to express ourselves during these challenging times. Artworks for this opportunity may pertain to the themes of being alone or separated, individuality, or simply work that was made in quarantine. Generally, we offer WCA members an opportunity to connect through their art during this time.
This call is open to all two and three-dimensional mediums and styles. Accepted works will be posted on the WCA-DC website. Works may be for sale or from a private collection, and all sales will be handled directly by the artists.
This is a juried exhibition open ONLY to members of the DC Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art. Non-members can join both the WCA and DC Chapter prior to the application deadline via our Membership Form
The exhibition will be juried by Mary Sellers. Mary holds a BA in Art History from The Catholic University of America, and an MS in Arts Administration from Drexel University. Mary has been working at the National Endowment for the Arts managing programs that focus on lowering the barrier to access the arts around the country. Before working at the Arts Endowment she managed arts and disability programs at St. John's Community Services and Very Special Arts, DC (VSA, DC). She served as the Gallery Director at VSA - DC where she managed the art gallery and studio and regularly curated exhibitions.
