Jinny Isserow is a self-taught artist living and working in Fairfax, Virginia.

Always seeking mentors, museums, workshops and studying beloved books, she has quietly and persistently pursued those “10,000 hours” of painting experience in order to educate herself. The goal is always to gain a greater ability to express on canvas what is seen and felt internally.

In addition to selling her work, Isserow has chosen to use her work to benefit charitable institutions, schools and fundraising auctions. Her belief is that her art is most meaningful when it can be used to advance worthwhile goals. She often uses the newspaper as reference material in an effort to speak to current, lived, social and political experiences. She also creates “ketubot” - the Jewish wedding document, which is a combination of Hebrew and English calligraphy and painted imagery.

Jinny Isserow has long-held the belief that while showing her art is a dream - it is survival. Isserow has been accepted into many juried shows and has won a Jurors Choice Award (Maryland Fed. of Art 2019), The Art League Marian Van Landingham Award (2020) and an Art League Honorable Mention (2020). Isserow has been selling artwork publicly and privately for several decades.
