"Shorelines" Photography by Sarah Hood Salomon

July 25, 2017

July 31 - September 3

Opening Reception & Artist’s Talk | Saturday, August 5, 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

The alluring qualities of the water’s edge have long been a source of inspiration for the human soul. Where water meets land is an area of heightened awareness, as the sound of waves encourage one to pause and reflect. Tranquil and capricious, shorelines invite introspection, and people tend to separate themselves in order to rejuvenate and relax. “Shorelines” is an intimate group of photographs by Sarah Hood Salomon. She explores many types of waterfronts and their soothing effect on humans. Salomon employs camera movement and a desaturated color palette to emphasize the self-imposed isolation of people alone with their thoughts.
