Our membership is growing and we need more help planning and executing all the things we want to accomplish to make this the best organization for you. We have a lot of opportunities for our members to be more involved with the chapter. Here are some of our current openings:
Scholarship Committee
Did you see we have a Social Justice Call for Art? WCADC will be awarding an Art scholarship to a Woman-identifying BIPOC (Black, indigenous, and person of color) art student local to the DC area. The scholarship comes from the proceeds from the See My Color Call for Art and up to $1000 from the WCADC budget. We need help with all of the details that go into this scholarship including the application and process for the scholarship, advertising, fundraising, etc. If you are interested in helping with this effort, please let us know by emailing wcadcinfo@gmail.com and use the subject: Scholarship Committee.
Community Outreach Chair
We are in need of someone to strengthen the relationship between WCADC and the community as well as art programs at the various institutions of higher learning in our chapter area. This includes communicating information to the community, organizing outreach campaigns, leading the Community Outreach Committee which will help you plan these events. Program Co-Chair
Barbara Wolanin is currently the Chair of Programs and would like some help. Secretary
We are in need of a Secretary to record decisions made at our meetings for the Board and Member meetings. The Board currently meets once a month virtually. The person who accepts this important responsibility would attend all meetings, take notes, publish to the board and keep the chapter's records. Communications Chair
Deb Walmer is currently acting as Communications Chair along with Technology and VP. This person would be our Newsletter Editor and lead the Communications Committee, which updates all of our social media as well as Public Relations. Exhibitions Committee
Have you wanted to learn how Art Exhibits are planned and executed? Madison Bolls is our Exhibitions Chair. She would like to get more members involved with setting up our exhibits including virtual exhibits and finding locations for exhibits.
