New Call for Art: Looking for America

In partnership with Client Raiser and Hera Hub DC, the DC area Chapter of Women’s Art Caucus invite members to submit work for a juried exhibition entitled “Looking For America: Washington, DC”. This exhibit explores the diverse communities of the United States, and challenges artists to share their stories and perspectives on what it means to be American today.

This is inspired by a larger project, Looking for America by Philippa Hughes, developed to explore immigration and American identity in various communities across the United States through public art, storytelling, and dialogue. This exhibition will be physically located at the Hera Hub location in Washington, DC and will be available to see by appointment. It will also be on view virtually on the WCA-DC website. This call is open to all two-dimensional/wall-mounted sculpture mediums and styles. Works should be no larger than 4’x4’. Video and freestanding sculpture cannot be accommodated. Please keep in mind that, as the venue is a co-working space, we are unable to exhibit violent or sexually explicit subject matter. Approximately 25-35 pieces of art will be included in this exhibit.

This is a juried exhibition open ONLY to members of the DC Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art. Non-members may qualify by joining both the WCA and DC Chapter prior to the application deadline via https://WCADC.org/to-join. WCA members from other Chapters may join the DC chapter to become eligible. https://www.wcadc.org/lookingforamerica
